Just some thoughts on my personal life- shabby cottage/chic decor, thrifting/junking, dogs with smushed-in faces, and pretty much anything else...

Gold Rush

This past weekend the fiance and I spent a few days down in Oronoco, Minnesota at their annual Gold Rush Days. It was incredible. At night we stayed at an adorable little B&B a short drive away and then shopped til we dropped during the day.
The Barteau House
It was a zoo!
There was something for EVERYONE...

Horses of courses.

Flowers and plants galore!

Vintage bikes.

Adorable hand painted signs.

Hot chicks.

Mini outhouse-for all of your small bathroom needs?

Can you please pass the salt & peppa?

Sea of Denim.

Garage Art? Sorry Fiance, the answer is "NO".

After sifting through THOUSANDS of items, we decided on the following to take home with us...

1-Garage Art sign (fiance's).
1-Vintage/well loved copy of Black Beauty.
1-Golden horse.
1-Chippy white side table.
1-Door for hallway closet. (What a lucky find! It'll only need a little bit of trimming to make it fit!)
1-Bushel basket.
1-Wire laundry cart. (A NECESSITY at events such as this. Who wants to carry all that crap around? Not this girl.)
1-Hand painted cabinet for awkward corner in dining room.
2-Vintage fans. (Yes they actually work!)
1-Chair for desk.
1-Metal ammo box. (The fiance's favoritest find!)
1-Men's bathroom sign for garage bathroom.
1-Basket weave garbage container for recycling. (To replace the Plain Jane plastic one.)

Junk Bonanza:

Ki Nassauer was there and even let me take a picture with her! (The fiance thought I was crazy, but I tried to explain that this was equivalent to him meeting Micahel Jordan-to which he just shook his head.) She was super nice as were all the ladies that were there advertising for Junk Bonanza and passing out information. (I found the door and the golden horse at their tent.) I've never been to the Junk Bonanza but after seeing the preview, I'm SOLD! They had some really great stuff there and it was all reasonably priced. So if this is any indication of what the Bonanza will be like, it's gonna be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

  1. Excited to see you at the Bonanza! Your guy was a real trooper!

  2. I am entirely green with envy! This looks like so much fun! Over the summer I took my mother to TN for some antique shopping. I think this will be a good destination for us next year!

You have such a beautiful blog, and I love all of the items you picked out- especially the Bar Sign. Too cute. Keep posting! -V

  3. So glad you were able to 'run away' for the weekend. The B&B looks charming. Did you get any photos of the interior? The flea market looks fantastic and you scored some great things. I especially like the cabinet with the glass front. I need a flea fix!

    Your Friend,

  4. So excited to meet you at JB in a couple of weeks. Let me tell you the JB booth you saw was just a wee little sampling of the fun you have in store for yourself at JB. It is awesome as a shopper and great as a vendor too. I've been to these since their very first much smaller one in Long Lake, Mn. I believe this is the 5th year, and I've shopped them for 3 and vended now for 2. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment. Please find me at the JB and introduce yourself.
I too was just at Oronoco on Friday only and found great treasures for display and to redesign with, plus had a blast at the 2nd annual blogging party. You must attend next year.
Here's to meeting up at JB.
